We take a look at the bezel-less Ulefone Future
Looking for a Bezel-less phone? Check out the best bezel-free smartphones here.
The ‘Future’ is Ulefone’s first attempt at creating a smartphone with a truly bezel-less display. I’ll be the first to admit that I won’t be shedding any tears when saying goodbye to the recent bulky-screen-border-trend of Chinese smartphones.
I still find it fascinating how there is a range of bezel-free phones available to import from the Chinese & overseas markets but here in the UK, there’s nothing except the ridiculous expensive Galaxy Edge series.
You can check out the latest prices for the Ulefone Future below.
I’ll take you through my quick Pro’s & Con’s before I look in more detail at what the Ulefone Future has to offer.

It’s about the user experience, not the hardware
The Ulefone Future looks to be nothing short of exceptional but as an owner of my fair share of smartphones, I know that the user experience is more important than specifications alone.
With this in mind, I’m going to take the official specifications with a pinch of salt and keep my fingers crossed that Ulefone’s version of Android Marshmallow is as seamless as on my Nexus phone.
If we look at previous Ulefone phones, like the Ulefone Paris or the Ulefone Power then I can be confident that the Future phone should impress us with a great user experience.
How the Ulefone is innovating with the Future phone
Ulefone is one of the first smaller Chinese brands to push out a bezel-less screen and this should put the heat on other mobile manufacturers to catch up. It’s something that most people will agree; a big bezel is a big put off.
Having the fingerprint reader on the side of the Ulefone Future is an exciting prospect. We’ll have to wait and see if this feels good with repetitive use or just becomes an annoying finger juggling act when trying to unlock your phone.
Using a CPU from the latest range of mobile processors from MediaTek is another step in the right direction and should help to reduce power consumption whilst increasing performance. A lot of smaller mobile manufacturers have pushed out the same mobile chips over and over to save on costs. Once the Future hits the shelves let’s hope the extra heat will speed up the adoption process.
Our early impressions of the Ulefone Future
Once I get the Ulefone Future in for review I’ll be able to see if what sounds fantastic on paper equates to fantastic in real world usage.
As first impressions go, the Future is looking hot with its decent hardware and good looks to match. No awards for original design but kudos for pushing the Chinese smartphone market in the right direction.
Have you been kept awake at night by endless Bezel nightmares? me too, well luckily we can now pre-order the Ulefone Future! The Futures Ulefone, the Futures Orange space grey & gold only.

What are your thoughts on the Ulefone Future? Does a phone bezel bother you?
how is it compared to the ulefone vienna which is lighter in weight?
This looks like an ace phone, I must say with their new releases this year I’ve been really impressed with Ulefone. I think they and UMi are two up and coming Chinese brands to keep an eye on.
